Eastbourne Rovers Track and Field report on Cara Maker

Posted on

Eastbourne Rovers athlete Cara Maker is proving that age is no barrier to co9ntinually improving performances and reaching the top of your field. Cara (V40) specialises in the horizontal jumps and sprints. She opened the season with 5m06 in the long jump which was impressive in itself, and has gradually added to this distance stretching out to a brilliant 5m34 in the Southern Vets League in Lewes. On that warm balmy evening she also produced a personal best in the triple jump with a massive 10.m44.

At the beginning of the season Cara produced a wind assisted 13.1 in her 100m which took her to the top of the rankings in the UK. She has now shown there is more in her legs as she crossed the line in 12.9secs last weekend in the Inter County Match at Coventry where she represented Sussex. This is a brilliant achievement.

Cara is now ranked 1st in the UK in the over 40 categories for 100m, long jump and tiple jump!

She is therefore looking forward to the British Championships in August.
