Eastbourne Rovers’ Annual General Meeting
Dear Members, Athletes & Parents
All athletes, parents and club members are invited to attend Eastbourne Rovers’ Annual General Meeting, which will be held in The Club Room, Eastbourne Sports Park, Cross Levels Way on Thursday 8th December at 7:00pm. The AGM is a requirement of the Club Constitution and provides an ideal opportunity to summarise the clubs successes over the last 12 months and also plans for the future, so please make a date in your diary and come along to support your Club. To keep costs down, a copy of the
AGM Agenda and copies of the
current Constitution and the proposed
revised Club Constitution are available here for your information. This year it has been necessary for the Executive Committee to review the whole document and re-align it to the Club activities and accommodate future plans. It has been necessary to issue both documents in full as the Executive Committee have had to make quite a number of changes, but please don't be scared off by its content and do come along and provide your voting support.
Be rest assured, we aim to keep the meeting as brief and informative as possible. Please note that no “Other Business” will be undertaken at the Annual General May I also take this opportunity whilst writing to you to seek your assistance. As you will be aware, the Club operates on a purely voluntary basis and we urgently require more help in general in order to continue to provide the best quality coaching and competition for our athletes/your children, so please come along to the AGM and let us know where you can help. There are many roles where parents/grandparents can assist and you don't have to be a fully qualified athletics coach, so please let us know who you are and where you could help, either at the AGM or if you can't make it, please speak to one of the coaches or drop an e-mail to to Christine Burgess at chris@sussexbarn.com as soon as possible.
I look forward to seeing you all at the AGM on the 8th.
Eddie Dennis
(ERAC Club Chairman)

7th Oct 2011 from Brighton Parkrun Newsletter
Saturday was a good day for Eastbourne Rovers Athletic Club. They placed 3 runners in the first 5 places, including the first two, and for good measure one of their members, Rhiannon Hadley, became the 5,000th Brighton & Hove parkrunner. They came as a group, and although I only counted 8 in the results, there looked to be more than that in the team photo that I saw being taken after the run. Ed Dodd obviously enjoyed his first win last week, as he chalked up another on Saturday with a 23secs PB to 16.42. Eastbourne club mate Jake Alger, 15 last month, improved 52secs to take second place in 17.19. Kevin Rojas (Brighton), returning from injury was 3rd in 17.51. Kevin Armstrong (Elmbridge RRC Surrey) in 4th place, with 30 runs at 7 venues, still counts as a visitor having run our event 7 times in the last two years. Stuart Pelling, another Eastbourne member was 5th."
